HERE “HELP” MORE PLEASE:

Help newly arriving asylum seekers in NYC

Guadalupe Maravilla and Mariana Parisca are organizing this fundraiser”

here is a humanitarian crisis unfolding in New York City. Help from the government and state is minimal. We are here trying to help people arriving daily out of compassion and goodwill. Pastor Juan Carlos Ruiz has turned The Good Shepherd Church into a Respite Sanctuary for newly coming asylum seekers from Texas arriving daily in New York City.

We need money to buy food and hygienic supplies and reunite families. The funds raised will go to Juan Carlos Ruiz directly and be used to help asylum seekers with basic urgent needs and family reunification.

Texas Governor is using asylum seekers as political pawns against sanctuary cities. Hundreds in detention centers or those caught on the border are being bused to NYC, Chicago and DC as part of Abbott's horrific plan against the Biden administration. DC has received 6,000 asylum seekers and has asked for help from the National Guard, which was denied. They are now arriving in New York City, where shelters are already overwhelmed. Hundreds of families are being sent from Texas without food, water, medical care, or hygiene supplies for a 45-hour bus drive. The Good Shepherd Chruch has become a Respite Sanctuary for immigrants arriving in NYC after long, complex, sometimes months-long journeys. Many of them come with children and have no resources. Please help Juan Carlos Ruiz by donating to ensure they have basic needs like food, water, clothing, and housing to provide for newly arriving asylum seekers and to help reunite families.

You can also donate any of the following supplies to PPOW Gallery at 390 Broadway, second floor, New York, NY 10013. Thursday - Saturday 4-6PM.
